Happy Tooth Day Lucas!

Okay, so you can't tell from this photo, but if you check out Lucas' blog you'll get a glimpse at the little white toothbuds emerging from his lower gums.

Poor little guy - it's taken him a lot of work to have these little teeth emerge. He's been working really hard at chewing just about anything you put in front of him, drooling through about 3 to 4 bibs a day and taking incredibly long naps to rest up in between. He's been a really good sport through it all, especially the incredibly full diapers. So hurrah! Lucas for being so patient with your new little teeth!

Holidays...

I hope your Christmas holidays were filled with as much wonder and delight as ours were. Lucas didn't really quite understand what was going on, but you do get to look at things with brand new eyes when you have a babe.

Just staring at the Christmas lights provided much amusement and enjoyment.

Happy New Year!

p.s. Apparently Lucas is outpacing me in terms of keeping his blog up to date. That kid...I can never keep up with him!

The Pumpkin Patch

Today was our first family visit to the Pumpkin Patch.

I swear Lucas had as much fun as we did! We promise to show him the pictures when he's older :)

Hot, hot, hot...

Okay, this one is not baby/mommy-related:

A colleague of mine sent me the link to the Appalachian State University promo video and I just can't stop laughing!

Ahh the world of student recruitment - it is filled with so many hillarious attempts to keep current with what the kids are interested in.

Don't forget to turn on your speakers to view this and to read the viewer comments, they're pretty funny, funny, funny...

Hmmm... UBC is wet, wet, wet!

The incredible growing baby...

As most of you know, I like to worry about everything and anything. So of course I decided to worry about how little time Lucas takes to eat. Basically his meals usually take no longer than 10 minutes (15 minutes max). I've noticed other babies take their time but my little guy is apparently just an incredibly efficient eater. Today he weighed in at 6.36kg (14.03lbs) and measured 62.9cm in length. The researchers at the UBC nutrition study basically said I should just calm down, because he's obviously eating something.

But hey, I'm a mom. I realized this when I put my fleece on for the second time this fall, stuck my hand in the pocket and found, not one, but TWO, baby face/spit cloths.

So, when I'm feeding the Luke-monster, I now turn away from the clock and just look at his eyelashes. It's incredible to look at them every day when he's eating and notice that they're longer than the day before. Like I said, I'm a mom. :)
